Save the plane fare! If you’re looking for a sweet round of traditional golf, settle in for a wondrous round at Links O’Tryon. Situated a stone’s throw from the Blue Ridge Mountains in what some first think of as equestrian territory, “The Links” features many and various natural terrain features that lead to 18 unique holes of golf. You’ll experience everything from a little mountain feel, then some water and even holes with a Pinehurst feeling of being among the giants. Yet overall it’s a rolling terrain, not too hard a round for even a novice.“The game of golf is played here.”That sign on the first tee summarizes our approach at The Links. We recognize the Scottish tradition of the game. But it also means we “do it right” here. The game is about fun, and we never lose sight of that.Conceived in 1985, the course has been a favorite of area golfers for 30 years and counting. Designed by noted architect Tom Jackson, the 18 hole, Par-72 layout offers five sets of tees with yardage ranging from 5,079 to 6,877 yards. The clubhouse was fashioned after the Royal Burgess in Scotland.
